Here's proof! Yes, we all had to start somewhere! In Robin's defense, this was her second event ever. There's no excuse for me, I had been reenacting for 3 or 4 years by this time. Ahhh, sometimes it's nice to look back & see how truely far we've come.

Here is a picture of me from Resaca a year or so earlier. For all you guys who are wondering, I did waste Claude Levet's time, and my money on this photo. Note the Georgia seal on the kepi, the CLEAN white haversack, the untarnished cup, and the CLEAN uniform. Not to mention, the BAD cut of the uniform! Look at the cut of the sleeves, the somehow bluejeans patterned trowsers. To top it all off, it was hmmm, how shall I say- Tuscaloosa Grey with French Blue Cuffs! Ooo, La La - how exotic! I thought I was the mostimpressive sight-straight out of history! ARRRGGGHHH! Man, I'm glad that phase of my reenacting history is now history!

Here we are at our first event as "Hard Core" reenactors. As memory serves, this was the 130th anniversary of the battle of Resaca, in the spring of 1994. I was wearing a borrowed Columbus Depot jacket. (Thanks to Brian Kepner of the First Florida/15th US) Of most important note is the hat! I had done a HUGE job of reworking the shape (pushed in the top, brim readjustments, correct lining, etc) since the first photo! Yes, it's the same hat! Since this picture, Robin has basically rebuilt her dress. Buttons on the cuffs to make it possible to roll the sleeves for washing clothes, added more panels to the skirt, shortened the skirt by a couple inches, readjusted the fit of the bodice, and much more.
